Is the style of Oppo Reno 11 Pro sufficient?
The Oppo Reno series has evolved over the years, but its main identity is based on design and cameras. The company continues with this strategy, and the recently launched Reno 11 series is no different. Design can be subjective, but cameras are all about the performance and versatility you’d expect from multiple sensors.
The Reno 11 Pro is on our radar with this piece, and for a phone in the Rs 40,000 range, the company is banking on its core strengths rather than battling its performance-hungry peers. The package definitely tries to improve on its predecessors and here we tell you if the stylish Reno 11 Pro is worth its price tag.
Stylish and stylish
Oppo is known for its focus on design and style, and you can see these elements in the Reno 11 Pro. The new textured finish over the glass on the back has a different appeal that’s hard to find in this range.
The giant camera module gives it an impressive build, but you won’t notice it because the device weighs just 181 grams.
The curved edges of the screen and the streamlined body make it easier to hold the phone, but we still felt a little worried about its sensitivity. The phone does not have an official IP rating, which may throw off some of you.
The cameras make you excited, almost
Oppo decided to continue using the same camera system on the Reno 11 Pro, which left us a little confused. Why are you standing still instead of proceeding with the update? That’s because Oppo is confident of improvements in software handling, which it claims will make better use of the three rear camera sensors, including the portrait camera. The results were visible when we got to test the lenses, especially in daylight, where colors and details remain intact.
The portrait camera gets a special mention for its ability to give you the detail and sharpness that a portrait requires. The main sensor handled low light conditions well, not so much with the secondary and tertiary sensors. Details captured at 2x and 3x zoom are also well-defined, which is another plus for the camera and its combination with software adjustments.
A level performer
Oppo uses the MediaTek Dimensity 8200 chipset for the Reno 11 Pro, which is only available with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of non-expandable storage. The hardware under the hood is a competent performer that can handle most computing tasks and the day-to-day demands of most smartphone users.
Gaming isn’t its strongest focus, which puts it below some other competitors in this price range. Coming to the software, the Oppo Reno 11 Pro gets Android 14 with ColorOS, which still has bloatware, but luckily you can remove most of it in a few minutes.
Oppo still needs to consider going for a cleaner interface and let people decide if they want to use some of these preloaded apps, especially the ones you can’t uninstall.
Lasts a Really Long Time
The Oppo Reno 11 Pro has a 4,600mAh battery that supports 80W charging out of the box. You might be worried about its backup, but we can safely say that the battery size won’t hinder its use.
In fact, you can easily get the phone to last well over a day if your usage is mostly limited to web browsing and using social media apps with small bursts of music or watching videos. And if you run out of juice, the included charger will get you up and running in less than half an hour.
The Oppo Reno 11 Pro has a new stylish design, the same cameras as its predecessor, but with software improvements and new hardware. This gives you a competent package, but competition is fierce in the sub-Rs 40,000 market, where buyers are spoiled for choice and can decide to spend based on their preferences.
